First Look at Apple’s Foldable iPhone This Could Redefine Smartphones!

Apple is gearing up to shake up the foldable smartphone market with a brand-new device expected to feature a crease-free display — a massive leap forward compared to the foldable phones we see today. According to industry reports, Samsung Display will supply Apple with specially engineered foldable panels designed to avoid the visible fold lines that plague current models.

This highly anticipated foldable iPhone is rumored to bring a completely fresh folding experience, backed by advanced technology and premium Apple design.

Crease-Free Foldable Screen in the Works

Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple’s foldable display will feature a metal plate beneath the screen, distributing the stress of folding more evenly. This could drastically reduce — or even eliminate — the crease. The plates are being supplied mainly by Fine M-Tec, a South Korean company that also works with Samsung on its foldables. But here’s the twist: even Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 still shows a crease, suggesting that Apple’s display will be custom-built and exclusive to its own devices.

It’s still unclear why Samsung hasn’t used this crease-free approach in its own phones. It could be due to differences in materials, manufacturing, or Apple’s famously high hardware standards pushing suppliers to innovate further. If this tech works as intended, Apple could actually outperform Samsung in the very market Samsung pioneered.

Foldable iPhone Launch Timeline and Specs

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s foldable phone will feature a high-end hinge design that makes the fold line almost invisible when opened flat. The device, which may not even carry the “iPhone” name, is expected to hit mass production in the second half of 2026.

When unfolded, the inner screen could measure 7.8 inches — close to the size of an iPad Mini — while the outer screen will reportedly be 5.5 inches, perfect for quick tasks. The device may feature two rear cameras and one front camera, with biometric security relying on Touch ID built into the power button instead of Face ID, likely to save space.

Thickness-wise, the foldable iPhone is expected to be about 4.5mm when open and 9–9.5mm when closed, slightly bulkier than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 but still impressively slim for a first-generation model.

Titanium Build for Premium Strength

The iPhone Fold will be built from titanium, giving it incredible strength while keeping it lightweight. This ensures durability without losing that sleek, premium Apple feel. Opened up, the phone will be razor-thin at just 4.5–4.8mm, and folded, it will be a compact 9–9.5mm — slim enough to slip into any pocket with ease.

Dual Displays with Liquid Hinge Technology

The outer 5.5-inch display will handle quick interactions like calls, messages, and notifications, while the inner 7.8-inch screen will deliver an immersive experience for gaming, multitasking, or watching videos. At the heart of this is Apple’s proprietary liquid hinge technology, designed to minimize creases while boosting durability. This innovation will give the device a smooth, uninterrupted display — a game-changer for foldable design.

Touch ID Returns in a New Form

Apple plans to bring back Touch ID, but this time integrated into the power button for a clean and modern look. This update will make unlocking faster and more secure, while fitting seamlessly into the device’s minimalist design.

Dual-Camera Setup for a Slim Design

To maintain its slim build, the iPhone Fold will feature a dual-camera setup — wide and ultra-wide lenses — instead of the triple-lens system on higher-end iPhones. Even so, Apple is expected to deliver the same high-quality photography and videography users have come to expect.

Next-Gen Battery for All-Day Use

Powering all this tech will be a carbon-lithium battery, a next-generation technology that promises better efficiency, longevity, and reliability. This should give users all-day battery life even with heavy use across two displays.

Price and Storage Options

The foldable iPhone will reportedly start at $2,000, making it one of Apple’s most premium devices ever. Storage will start at 256GB, catering to users who need plenty of space for apps, photos, and videos. Clearly, Apple is aiming for tech enthusiasts and early adopters willing to pay for cutting-edge innovation.

A New Era for Foldables

Apple’s foldable iPhone isn’t just another product launch — it’s a statement. With its titanium body, crease-free display, advanced hinge, and cutting-edge battery, this device could set a new standard in foldable smartphones. While the high price means it won’t be for everyone, it signals Apple’s determination to push mobile technology forward and redefine what a foldable phone can be.

If Apple delivers on these promises, the iPhone Fold could be the start of a whole new chapter in smartphone history.
